AI Data
Engineer

You take messy client data, build the pipeline, wire in the AI, and ship something that works in production. No hand-holding required.

Remote-first Contractor → FTE path ~50% to start Data · ETL · AI Enterprise clients

The company

ThynkLab.ai builds AI products that actually help enterprise clients get things done. We're based in Switzerland, working with clients across Europe — a small, focused team with a clear vision that is now looking for the right people to grow with. The foundation is solid, the product is real, and getting in now means you help shape what this becomes — not just execute on what's already decided.

The role

You'll take ownership of the full data-to-AI stack on client projects — from understanding the source systems to delivering something running in production. That means getting your hands dirty with warehouses and pipelines, and knowing how to wrap it all with AI that actually adds value.

Build data pipelines

Design and implement ETL/ELT from client source systems into clean, usable data.

Engineer the AI layer

Connect the data to AI models and make sure the output is actually useful.

Own the warehouse

Design schemas, manage data quality, keep things fast and reliable.

Ship to production

Deploy, monitor, and iterate. You're done when it runs, not when it works on your laptop.

What we're looking for

Data engineering fundamentals. You've built ETL/ELT pipelines, worked with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or similar), and know what clean data actually looks like.
Solid coding skills. Python is your default. SQL is second nature. You write code others can maintain.
Hands-on AI experience. You've worked with LLMs, embeddings, or ML models in a real context — not just notebooks. You know how to make AI useful, not just impressive.
You've shipped something. Doesn't have to be a big company or a long CV — but you've taken something from idea to production and you know what that feels like. Show us something real.
Good English. You'll work with international clients. Written communication needs to be clear and confident.
Comfortable with ambiguity. Client data is always messier than expected. You adapt, don't freeze.

Nice to have

Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools
Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, or LLM fine-tuning
Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
B2B enterprise or consulting background

Why join now

We're a small team on the track of something really good. Getting in now means you're part of building it — not just joining something that's already figured out.

Real ownership. You won't be maintaining someone else's stack. You'll help build ours — from the ground up, on real client projects.
Early team advantage. The people who join now are the ones who define how we build, what we prioritise, and grow with the company if we get this right.
Fast growth, real responsibility. No waiting for a promotion cycle. If you perform, your role grows with the business — fast.
Work that matters. You'll see the impact of your work directly — in production, with clients who notice.
Flexibility. Fully remote, async-friendly, output-driven. We care about what you ship, not when you log in.

Sounds like you?

Send us a short intro and something you've built — a repo, a project, a pipeline, anything real. No CV wall of text required. We'll get back to you within a week.
